Solana Hotel & Spa

Perfect location, lovely lobby bar and live music some nights. The indoor pool and sauna were lovely and the rooftop bar. Room was spacious for 4 of us and very comfortable.

This was my second recent visit to Mellieha but my first stay at the Solana. I was impressed by the contact from the hotel before my stay, including an offer of a discounted room upgrade, which I accepted. There was an initial issue with my room but this was dealt with very efficiently and my first night was in a lovely Suite!! My room was ready early the next day and was superb with the promised panoramic view of the town. The staff in the hotel are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. I had a half board package and eat at the excellent Bellini restaurant which offers an excellent hot and cold buffet at breakfast and dinner. Mellieha is a great location with good access to all parts of the island via the terrific Malta Buses. Buy the 7 day pass at the airport for 21 Euros and catch the X1 from outside the Arrivals Hall to the stop outside the Hotel and then enjoy unlimited low cost travel to all of the many places Malta has to offer.

Room was spacious and tastefully decorated. black out curtains worked and bed comfy. Breakfast was delicious especially chefs scrambled egg and the potato croquettes; the sponge cake was super fluffy and fresh. Lots of variety at fruit station. the pistachio ice cream was incredible. The spa area was so calming and gym was well equipped. Singer in the evening was so attentive and took request - made a nice change. We ate in the bar too - the Asian menu was such a bonus. 2 for 1 on cocktails really helped and the dissarrano sours were made so well. Reception were super helpful when my daughter left her t-shirt on one of sun loungers and when boyfriend lost his phone on bus Aperol promotion was great fun and the pool side views of the city were amazing! Hotel and gym area super clean. No one was unwell during on the holiday or post holiday!

Great hotel! The room quality was excellent, very spacious, spotlessly clean, and always well maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable with a choice of pillows, which made our stay even better. We were very pleased with the attitude and friendliness of the staff. Breakfast and dinner were both outstanding. The rooftop pool was a highlight, and we were lucky enough to enjoy fireworks and a celebration right from the hotel’s roof. Even on the day of our late flight, we were allowed to use the hotel’s facilities and relax by the pool, which was a big plus. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would gladly return.

Our 7-night stay at the hotel was delightful. Throughout our visit, the staff provided exceptional service. The receptionists were attentive, friendly, and helpful. During our stay, we indulged in the breakfast and dinner provided. The meal options were diverse and included hot dishes. The restaurant was spacious, with ample seating available. We had a wonderful time enjoying lunch at the rooftop pool and bar. The ambience was delightful, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed our time at the hotel's Nataraya spa, where Tessa and Melrose provided exceptional service. The hot tub and complimentary drink were a nice touch. The hotel's location was convenient, with shops, bars, restaurants and a beach within a 20-minute walk. Public transportation was also easily accessible, making renting a car to explore the island unnecessary. If we had the opportunity, we would stay at this hotel.
